Someone I knew at school just e-mailed me telling me that one of the pictures on
www.orkut.com looks a lot like me. Strangeness.

Incidentally, if any of you are on this network, I must admit that after reading the /. article, I'm curious about your experiences with it.

It looks like you years ago. My mental image of your hair[1] changed from {long straightish dark hair} to {blue streaks! Oh, yeah, with sort of general Avani hair beneath them} and never changed back, so it's hard to compare it to you recently.

[1] My mental images of people are clearer about the hair than most of the face stuff, so that's what I often recognize people by.

It looks about like that now again. The blue changed to copper highlights for a while, and now its all just sorta getting re-absorbed.

... recognizing people by hair: You must have had so much fun in your time at East :-)

I think I saw you at least once in the coppery phase, but it didn't make as much impression on me as the blue. Blue!

Long hair is *good* for me. I can tell pretty much everybody's long hair apart, even when they've done unexpected things to it. Generic male short cuts are the hardest: they're all the same, even with different base hair, which makes old-fashioned movies really hard for me to track. (The main character is a tallish white man in dressy clothes with that haircut. So is the secondary character. And the other secondary character. And the villain. And the-- is this a new character, or is this the hero again? Or maybe it's the villain?)

That is rather uncanny.

I agree: uncanny! Livejournal is enough social networking for me, since I never really got the hang of Friendster.
