While I ended up not joining the drunken mob at Spring Crawl on Saturday, I did go to downtown on Sunday, and watched silentmonster kick ass performing short-form improv at the Gorilla Tango.
I also began the weekend by going to a grad student grumble Friday night, marking the first time in my almost 2 years as a grad student where I've had beer and pizza for dinner. It was fun, especially after C left, leaving the rest of us to actually have a conversation without her interjecting. I met an interesting guy -> European, bicycles 100 mile runs at a time for fun, dresses casual designer, and has a passion for representation schemes in programming languages. By the 3rd beer or so, he was attributing his success in CS to his Spanish balls, complete with visual cues. By the 5th, he'd offered me his clothes. Like I said, interesting guy. I said no. I'm giving him 50% odds of not remembering a single thing if I see him in colloquium tomorrow.
For all my complaining, downtown Albuquerque is actually kinda cute. I think I'd like to spend more time there, preferably minus the 20 minute drive home.
I packed up books, DVDs, and a handful of clothes for the summer. I think all I really have left to pack are a few kitchen utensils and spices that pabw doesn't have (like, say, a full set of plates :-P). Sadly, I just don't think I can get the LoveSac back into the tube, so it'll have to stay here, and I'll have to go buy myself a grown up couch. If all goes well, however, I should still have room in the car for my super-lazy-spoiled-girl espresso machine.
Finally, ghetto poll:
I expanded this cut because of:
1. The "drunken mob" tag.
8 days and 13 hours from now, Albuquerque will be in the dust behind me.
